Gastronomy is the art of eating food!

Introduction

Gastronomy is a key part of the French lifestyle, with many famous cuisine items including Baguettes, Croissants, Frog Legs and many more French delights.

This website will outline the dishes of three regions of France, giving a short summary of each region and its signature dish.

The regions of France, and their foods, that I will be outlining are Le Coq au Vin of Auvergne, Beurre Blanc of Pays de la Loire and Les Cuisses de Grenouille of Poitou-Charentes.

Hopefully after visiting this site you will have a greater understanding of these regions dishes and try the dishes for yourselves.

Gastronomy Definition

The word Gastronomy literally means "the art or law of regulating the stomach", it is alos the study of food and culture, with a particular focus on gourmet cuisine. Gastronomy involves discovering, tasting, researching, experiencing, understanding and writing about food preparation and the sensory qualities of food as a whole.
